Nando’s tattoo not enough

2014-05-09 00:00

A BRIT enjoys his Nando’s so much that he had the peri-peri chicken braaier’s logo tattooed onto his right butt-cheek.

The 19-year-old Bradley Holman then asked a British branch of the South African franchise to give him the sought-after loyalty card that would be his passport to free Nando’s meals. When they declined, he said he would even settle for just one free Nando’s meal.

The loyalty card is however only given to global celebrities like David Beckham, Ed Sheeran, Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé and Jay-Z — and Holman is not famous enough.

He said he had sent Nando’s an e-mail to tell them he had a tattoo of their chicken logo on his bum and how much he liked their restaurants. He said he also asked Nando’s if they would reward this type of customer loyalty but they said they do not give any meals or vouchers to clients, Holman told UK’s Daily Mirror.

He claimed said he annually spends about R26 378 on Nando’s meals, always ordering an extra-hot whole chicken, garlic bread and a bottomless drink. “Nothing beats it,” he told the Daily Mail.

Holman said the tattoo became part of his butt after a heavy night out in Malia, Crete, last year. He was desperate for a hangover cure and his mates suggested if he could not get a Nando’s meal, he should get the logo.

SA Nando’s spokesperson Ashley Stansfield said this was the first he had heard such a request in his nine years with the company.

He said Holman was not the first to have the Nando’s logo tattooed, as another person already had this done, but not in South Africa.

He said the group would definitely be able to give a small prize to Holman after due consultations on the matter.
