National MTB test of the best

2013-04-13 00:00

PIETERMARITZBURG is in the cycling spotlight once more as the second round of the Cycling SA National Mountain Bike Series takes place today and tomorrow at the Cascades track.

The cross-country race has a UCI category 2 rating, which will assist South African riders to gain valuable UCI points ahead of the start of the UCI World Cup season next month, and the prestigious one-off world championship that will be hosted in Pietermaritzburg in August.

Late entries will be accepted tomorrow (9 am-2 pm for downhill entrants only).

The SA XCO and DHI Series offers riders around the country the opportunity to compete in these disciplines, and provides SA Mountain Biking the chance to see the best of the best in action, and how they handle the competition on the different courses in varying conditions.

This process helps SA MTB to select the best possible team to represent the country at the UCI MTB World Championships.
