2008-07-15 00:00

Professor Thengani Ngwenya, the newly appointed director of academic affairs at the Durban University of Technology’s (DUT) midlands campuses, says he has big dreams for the institution.

Ngwenya is enthusiastic about the challenges of his job, and aims to contribute to the process of transforming the institution into a global player in the tertiary education sector.

In a short time, he has already set up structures to expedite collaborative management with the key academic units of the university.

His next goal is to become actively involved in programme design, quality assurance and the general academic management at DUT.

“I think it is crucial for the DUT community to have a common vision regarding its organisational identity, especially as we engage in the challenging task of defining ourselves as a University of Technology in a globalised knowledge economy.”

Professor Thengani Ngwenya … aims to contribute to the process of transforming DUT into a global tertiary player.
