New documentary celebrates Madiba legacy

2010-06-05 00:00

MANDELA: The Path to Freedom is a new documentary about former South African president Nelson Mandela, the Nobel Peace Prize winner who gave his life to his people and struggled against apartheid.

As 2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the day he famously walked out of prison, Discovery World (DStv channel 250) is commemorating his story through the eyes of the men and women who have been motivated by his legacy. Viewers will be able to see Mandela’s youngest daughter recall how she coped growing up in the absence of her father and learn what it was like to know him, as described by his former prison guard.

Mandela: The Path to Freedom can be seen tomorrow night at 7.10 pm on Discovery World.
