Nissan increases production capacity

2012-08-23 00:00

ROSSLYN — Durban harbour is set to get busier when Nissan SA delivers the first new units built as part of a 100 000-unit capacity increase at its factory in Rosslyn, north of Pretoria. The announcement, by Nissan SA managing director Mike Whitfield, coincided with a visit to the South African operation by the chief operating officer of Nissan Motor Company Limited, Toshiyuki Shiga.

The increase in capacity is aimed at supporting the company’s global business plan, Nissan Power 88, which targets eight percent of global market share and eight percent corporate operating profit by 2016.
