2012-03-13 00:00

MOHAMMED Sathar (43) appeared in the magistrate’s court in Durban yesterday in connection with the shooting of popular Margate resident Richard

Duxbury (36) in an alleged “road rage” incident in Durban on February 29.

Duxbury was shot dead and his body was allegedly run over by a truck driver in an incident that occurred on the M4 in Durban.

The Witness reported that the incident happened in front of Duxbury’s father, Brian.

He said he tried to apprehend the driver, who pulled off quickly and almost ran him over.

Court spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson confirmed that Sathar appeared briefly in court yesterday in connection with the case and said the state would oppose bail in the matter, which was postponed until April.

She said Sathar faces charges of murder and attempted murder. — WR.
