Northdale nurse wins top SA award

2007-12-03 00:00

Sakila Pillay said she was very excited to be nominated for such a prestigious award. “For the past 22 years I’ve enjoyed doing my work because I love helping people. I sometimes sacrifice my spare time for my patients because their needs are more important to me,” she said. Pillay said the award will hopefully highlight the good service the hospital is doing.

She encouraged her colleagues to work hard and keep up with the pledge nurses take, “because if they don’t they will jeopardise the profession”.

“I would also like to thank my management for believing in me,” said Pillay.

It was the first time that Northdale Hospital entered the awards.
