Nyda: PMB stop for youth train

2012-06-20 00:00

THE hip-hop singing group, Self Made Cheese, will sing their song Limitless Youth on a platform at Pietermaritzburg Station tomorrow.

Their performance is part of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) awareness campaign that took to the tracks two weeks ago as part of its Youth Month programmes.

The NYDA train is scheduled to arrive at Pietermaritzburg Station at 9 am and depart for Durban at 3 pm.

The agency aims to promote co-ordination in youth development matters.

It was set up after the merger of the National Youth Commission and Umsobomvu Youth Fund.

“We are not just about giving people money,” said Shoe-Shoe Letele of the NYDA.

“People come to us with ideas and we evaluate and check how we can help them to sustain whatever businesses they want to create. There are also training programmes and bursaries provided.” — Witness Reporter.
