2009-11-23 00:00

HIGHER Education Minister Blade Nzimande said that an accelerated skills development “revolution” is needed in order for the millions of graduates sitting at home to get work experience.

Speaking to The Witness on Saturday after his meeting with the Umgungundlovu FET College management and its stakeholders, Nzimande said that the college’s students and others in the midlands area are faced with challenges of finding work experience in various industries.

The meeting was to brief the college and stakeholders on national government’s plans of addressing work placements for students from FET colleges and unirvesities of technology.

He said one of the steps to address this challenge is to hold a national skills development summit in March or April next year.
