Out with the old: PMB dumps e-waste

PIETERMARITZBURG residents had a chance to get rid of their old computer monitors, microwaves, and other electronics that were cluttering up their storerooms or garages on Friday.

“Increased e-waste is a result of socio-economic factors. As the middle income group grows they get more access to services and electronics. Thus there is more e-waste. This is a growing problem throughout the country,” said Grant von Mayer of engineering and environmental company Jeffares and Green.
