PCB energy-saving talk open to all

2008-10-19 00:00

Mindful of the need to lend ongoing support to a culture of widespread energy efficiency, the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business (PCB), in partnership with Eskom, is hosting a seminar on energy efficiency at Chamber House at 5.15 pm on Wednesday.

This is the fourth in a series of seminars aimed at promoting the more efficient usage of electricity in order to deal constructively with the current energy crisis and, hopefully, reduce the likelihood of load shedding.

“The average householder and small business owner is probably unaware of the ways by which a considerable energy saving may be effected without any disruption to the regimen.

“While we encourage business people to attend so that we can all contribute towards the saving of energy, members of the public who may be interested will also be very welcome,” explained PCB chief executive officer Andrew Layman.

There is no charge for attending and the seminar is also open to businesses that are not PCB members.

The theme of the meeting is “Energy Efficiency — How to save 10 to 15%”.

Clive Nicosia of Eskom is the presenter.

Furthermore, another meeting addressing heating and air conditioning will be held on November 5.
