IF you’re looking for a way to keep your little ones entertained, or simply fancy a day out in the midlands, why not head to Piggly Wiggly on Saturday and enjoy Christmas in the Country.

From 9 am to 9.30 pm the centre in Lions River will be running events ranging from wine tasting at Meander Wines to face painting and pony rides, colouring-in competitions, painting a ceramic pig at Zulu Lulu, cooking demonstrations with Cathy da Costa and vineyard tours.

Children will also enjoy a Christmas party from 5 pm where Father Christmas will hand out gifts. Tickets are R60. Booking is essential.

From 5.30 pm there will be a sheep, pig and duck on the spit, a tree-lighting ceremony, an anti-poaching presentation and the chance to do some old-fashioned carol singing. Proceeds from the event will go towards the anti-poaching campaign.

For more information and to book, phone 033 234 4323.
