Palace: offer R5,4 mln for Gould

2011-07-09 00:00

JOHANNESBURG — English Championship side Crystal Palace have agreed on a £500 000 (R5,4 million) fee for Bafana Bafana and SuperSport United captain Morgan Gould, according to the Sowetan.

But this is on condition that the former Jomo Cosmos defender impresses Palace’s technical staff during trials next week.

SuperSport United’s chief operations officer Jose Ferreira could not be reached for comment regarding the latest development.

Gould is managed by Glyn Binkin, who is confident the likeable defender will go overseas.

Binkin is also trying to secure an overseas move for Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mphela.

Back home, Orlando Pirates are proceeding in negotiations with Maritzburg United for the services of Namibian striker Rudolf Bester, while Kaizer Chiefs have offered defender Tlou Molekwane a two-year extension on his contract.
