Pile-up: Lucky escape

2011-12-07 00:00

TWENTY people, including an eight-month- pregnant woman, escaped serious injury in a three-vehicle collision on Moss Kolnick Road, Amanzimtoti, at about noon yesterday.

Two Quantum taxis and a bakkie were involved in the pile-up. Although 20 people suffered cuts and bruises, said Lieutenant-Colonel Vincent Mdunge, there were no serious injuries.

The police reported that the driver of the bakkie had failed to stop at the Blaze Way and Moss Kolnick intersection and collided with a taxi.

That taxi collided with another taxi travelling in the opposite direction. Netcare 911, KZN EMRS and the fire department responded to the crash.
