Pinetown cricket’s new chair

PINETOWN Cricket Club start the new club season with new faces at the helm.

Going into their 140th year, the second oldest club in South Africa see long-serving member Marco Chixaro elected as chairperson, with a young committee of Andrew Dyer, Cynthia White, Kyle Gilham, Robbie Koen, Barry Dyer, Abdulla Shaik and Grant Olivier.

“As a club, we are excited with the changes within the club’s management systems ahead of the season,” said Chixaro.

“We are looking forward to the challenges lying ahead and hope to remember our 140th year with strong performances on the field, recognised as a respected force in club cricket.”

The club’s first team start their league campaign on Sunday, September 29 and pre-season training for senior men has started on Wednesdays, from 4.30 pm, at the club.

Junior players, U11 and U13, start training on September 6.
