Plush performs tonight, tomorrow in PMB

South African rock band Plush make their way into KwaZulu-Natal this weekend for the launch of the trio’s third album, Rage On. The band will be performing tonight at Michaelhouse and tomorrow night at Hilton College and at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg campus.

Plush hit the road last year under the label of Rory Eliot and the Reason, but have opted for the less-of-a-mouthful branding as Plush, the name under which Eliot and the late Chas Smit performed. Frontman Eliot, bassist Emelio Gassibe and drummer Ben Peters make their way around South Africa once again this year.

In a press release, band manager Brandon Prevost promises all the usual thrills from the musical trio, saying: “The guys have really been looking forward to this show... Pietermaritzburg is where their legacy started in 2002. A lot has changed since then but looking back, they know there has been immense growth and healing.”

After a tour of the UK, their first foray into the international market, Plush are now promoting Rage On, which hits South African shelves this month. Tickets are R50. Bookings: 033 234 1139.

The new album, as well as new Plush T-shirts and mementos, will be on sale at the venues in Pietermaritzburg. Fans can visit the Plush website and myspace page for regular updates on the band at and
