Poisoned cows: new court date

2010-04-07 00:00

MOOI River farmer Peter Kean (47) and his co-accused, Vusumuzi Jali, made a second appearance in the magistrate’s court at Mooi River yesterday in connection with the poisoning of 54 dairy cows in December 2008.

The cows belonged to Kean’s brother, James.

It is alleged that the poisoning may have been linked to a longstanding family feud between Peter Kean and other members of the family.

The case was postponed yesterday until April 23 for further investigation.
