2012-09-29 00:00

A POLICE dog called Rudi caught a robbery suspect at Murchison near Port Shepstone after he refused to obey police orders to hand himself over, police said.

The suspect and an alleged accomplice, who were arrested in Mkhlombe on Wednesday, are linked to a spate of robberies in the Port Shepstone and Harding areas.

“Stolen property such as air time, clothing and cell- phones were found in their possession,” said police.

Police said three of the gang remained at large.

“They [allegedly] targeted businesses within the rural areas and reportedly robbed the victims at gunpoint.”
