Principal in more trouble

A HIBBERDENE school principal, who is out on bail for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in June, is now in more trouble over the child.

He has been re-arrested following her claim that he pointed a firearm at her over the weekend.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the teacher (49) arrived at the girl’s home in Mnafu Location at about 10.30 am on Saturday.

“He asked her to come out to the gate, but she refused to leave the yard,” said Wiid.

“He then allegedly pulled out a firearm and pointed it at her.”

The girl, who was alone at the time, then ran inside her house and pressed a panic button.

Upon realizing that no one was responding quickly enough, she headed for a neighbour’s house some distance away, said Wiid.

“The neighbour said she had been crying profusely but managed to tell her what happened.”

The principal is now once again in custody and will appear in Hibberdene Court on Friday to apply for bail on top of his existing bail.
