Property: PMB plots all snapped up

2008-01-29 00:00

Interest rates, political uncertainty or property market concerns were of no consequence recently as buyers snapped up prime property in Hayfields, Pietermaritzburg.

Within the space of one Sunday afternoon all 20 plot and plan sites, priced at R900 000,in the new Assegai Gardens were sold.

"The success of the launch far exceeded our expectations," said Keith Wakefield CEO of Wakefields Estate Agents. There was a mix of buyers from those who intended to live in the development, investors as well as parents buying property for their children.

Work on Assegai Garden’s civil infrastructure is expected to start at the end of this month and, all going according to plan, the construction of the homes will be complete in September, when transfer will take place.
