Proteas beat Pakistan by four runs on D/L method as rain stops play

2013-11-21 00:00

SOUTH Africa beat Pakistan by four runs courtesy of the Duckworth/Lewis method after rain brought proceedings to a halt during the first T20 international in Johannesburg last night.

South Africa had posted 153/7 batting first. In their reply, Pakistan were 60 for two after 9.1 overs, four runs behind on the Duckworth/Lewis method.

Earlier, the start of the match had been delayed by 25 minutes due to a downpour prior to the toss.

The rain began to fall an hour before the scheduled 6 pm start, and the toss 30 minutes before first ball was delayed with the covers still on the pitch.
