Protesting fieldworkers told, ‘No questionnaires, no pay’

IF you have not been counted, don’t fret, the enumerators are on their way, and this time they’re wearing blue.

Statistics SA has a two-week “mop-up exercise”, starting today, during which fieldworker supervisors and co-ordinators will follow up on households who have been missed.

Statistician-General Pali Lehohla said, “This is our quality-check exercise to understand the area we have covered and determine if there has been an undercount.

“Around 12 000 families will be revisited by our staff doing this survey. This time they will be dressed in blue.”
