THE KZN Legislature wants a list of all the forensic investigations carried out at Msunduzi Municipality.

Included in the report will be details of disciplinary and criminal actions taken and money to be recovered, if any.

The report is to be prepared by the Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Department.

This was resolved by the joint committee on finance, scopa and cooperative governance. The committee's public hearings on municipalities ended on Friday.

With regard to Msunduzi, the committee wants a report on whether the recommendations of the April 2007 investigation, commissioned by former Local Government MEC Mike Mabuyakhulu, were implemented. The report has to be provided to the joint committee by September 30.

By November 30, the department must also provide the joint committee with a copy of the latest forensic investigation. The report must lists the findings of the investigation and state whether the recommendations have been fully implemented by the municipality.

This will include all disciplinary and criminal action needed to be taken against those persons identified in the report, and the recovery of money if such amounts were spent illegally or irregularly.

The joint committee asked Msunduzi Mayor Mike Tarr to provide copies of the internal forensic investigations, which must be implemented by the new administrative team as soon as they become public. This must also be submitted by November 30.
