TWO Umtentweni pubs, Venture Inn and Quenchers, were recently robbed, with Venture Inn being robbed last week Tuesday and Quenchers the following day.

According to a police report, the complainant alleged that he noticed a stranger at the Venture Inn Hotel at about 10 pm.

He then confronted the person, which lead to a scuffle.

The man managed to break free and ran away. Afterwards, it was discovered that a laptop was missing,” said police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

She said a case of theft was opened and no arrests have been made.

In a separate incident, the complainant alleged that Quenchers was robbed after the thief gained entry through the pub’s door.

The complainant discovered that the pub door was open, but there was no forced entry. “A cash box, cash and some liquor were missing,” said Wiid. A business burglary case is being investigated by police.
