Pupil stabbed outside school

2013-11-11 00:00

A GRADE 10 pupil of Woodlands Secondary School in Pietermaritzburg was stabbed outside the school on Friday morning.

Reena Sindhoo said that her son, Bradley (16), was leaving school after finishing a morning exam when two boys tried to rob him of his school bag. “They tried to stab him in the chest,” Sindhoo said, “and he was injured three times in the arm while trying to defend himself.”

He was taken to Midlands Medical Centre for treatment and discharged.

Sindhoo said a member of the Police’s Canine Unit near the scene responded promptly and along with other police arrested two suspects.

Mountain Rise police confirmed that two 15-year-old boys have been arrested and are being held in custody.

Sindhoo said her son may not be able to complete his exams due to pain and mobility problems resulting from the attack.
