2014-06-20 00:00

Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for the alleged rape of three women he had allegedly lured with the promise of jobs.

The women are aged between 19 and 23 years old.

Between March and June 2014, the man set up appointments to meet with them in the Pietermaritzburg area and while walking with them along a railway line he would threaten them with a knife.

He would rape them before robbing them of their belongings and fleeing the scene. The suspect was charged with three counts of rape and is expected to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court.
