Rain stays away for Mynahs clash

2013-12-05 00:00

ALTHOUGH rain ruined the Dolphins and Knights Sunfoil Series four-day clash at Pietermaritzburg Oval at the weekend, it stayed away for most of the weekend at Beaumont Eston Farmers Club.

This allowed a KZN Inland U17 side to take on the U17 Kingsmead Mynhas team on Saturday and Sunday, with play possible as scheduled on both days, as the rain arrived only in the late afternoon.

Both sides agreed to bat for 65 overs, and a T20 clash was added for good measure.

Kingsmead Mynahs president Colin Chater thanked coaches Philip Lanz and Richard Moolman, plus KZN Inland’s Sibonelo Ngcobo and Ismail Kajee for arranging umpires. Scott Hosking was acknowledged for an outstanding ground prepared at Eston, and for his hospitality and catering.
