Raisethorpe teenagers missing

2010-06-30 00:00

A REWARD is being offered for the safe return of two teenage girls who disappeared from their Raisethorpe home yesterday morning.

A police report confirmed that the teenage cousins, Rishana Sonpal (14) and Jerushka Lakhraj (15), were last seen at 4 Vanker Road at bedtime on Monday evening, but were nowhere to be found the following morning.

“Whoever comes up with concrete information that leads to their safe return will get a reward,” Vikash Lakhraj, Jerushka’s father and Rishana’s uncle, told The Witness.

Lakhraj said the girls are “homely and don’t go clubbing or out at night”. He said they are always happy and “the whole family is shocked about this”.

“This is the first time that something like this has happened to us,” he said.

Police have appealed to anyone with information about the girls to contact Constable Padayachee at 033 387 9600, or call at the Mountain Rise police station.
