Rates Forum meetings

2012-10-09 00:00

AS part of preparations for a massive service delivery protest, the Msunduzi Rates Forum (MRF) will hold a series of meetings across Pietermaritzburg.

MRF chairperson Babs Sithapersad urged residents to attend the meetings, saying it was pointless for people to complain about poor service delivery from the Msunduzi Municipality, while sitting back and doing nothing.

Sithapersad said that as long as residents were complacent, the municipality would take them for granted and provide shoddy services, and increase the costs of these services without a second thought.

Meetings have been planned in the following areas over the next week. Venues, dates and times that have been confirmed are as as follows:

Today — Aryan Hall, Khan Road, 6.30 pm for 7 pm

Tomorrow — TPA Hall, Balhambra Way, 6 pm for 6.30 pm.

October 14 — Marion Hall, Loop Street, 2 pm for 2.30 pm.

October 17 — Heather Hall, Heather Road, 6 pm for 6.30 pm.

October 20 — Eastwood Primary School, Kingfisher Road, 2 pm for 2.30 pm.
