Resilient KZN Inland on a roll

2014-07-02 00:00

THREE matches in 24 hours left not only the KZN Inland players mentally and physically drained but also coach Brandon Swart. However, the Pietermaritzburg-based province completed their third win in two days yesterday and are well on course for a berth in Friday’s semi-finals.

Inland got past the highly competitive Border side 1-0.

Coach Justin Collins’s KZN Coastal side are also well on target for a berth in the last four after completing their second day with a three from three record. Coastal got past a feisty Southern Free State 2-0 after leading 2-0 at the break. A brace by the talented Kearsney lad Ngobile Ntuli in the 18th and 21st minutes did the damage for the Durban-based side, before beating Western Province B 1-0 a few hours later.

Tomorrow sees Western Province and Eastern Province in the Battle of the Cape province at 8.50 am. The KZN matches see Coastal versus Border at 2.10 pm and what should be a lopsided match between Inland and South Western Districts at 11.30 am.
