FLORIDA Road Mexican restaurant Taco Zulu was robbed on Monday morning and the thugs even stole the CCTV camera footage. Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane said the restaurant employees were accosted by three armed men and robbed at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount of cash, cellphones and the camera footage at around 9 am. “No shots were fired and the manager was assaulted during the incident. Berea police are investigating a case of business robbery and no arrest has been made at this stage,” Zwane said. The restaurant did not want to comment. Businesses in Florida Road, with the consent of the eThekwini Metro, have recently formed a Special Rating Area (SRA) in an attempt to keep the area an attractive inner city destination and protect their business investments. The Witness reported last September that business property owners will absorb an extra R2 million annual fee that will be used predominately for crime prevention (R920 000) and cleaning and greening (R222 000).
