Rhodes joins English club

CAPE TOWN — Stormers and Western Province forward Michael Rhodes has signed a deal with English club Saracens.

The London club announced the news via their official website yesterday.

Rhodes (27) will join Saracens from the Stormers after the conclusion of this year’s Super Rugby competition and in time for the 2015/16 European season.

“Michael was one of the stand-out performers for the Stormers and Western Province last year. He’s a powerful runner with the ball in hand and he’s an imposing presence at the set-piece,” said Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall.

“The modern game demands that a player possesses a wide range of skills; and Michael certainly does. We look forward to him joining the club in July.”
