Ripple Off: mixing business and fun

2010-10-25 00:00

THE Port Shepstone area committee of Ugu South Coast Tourism hosted its annual Ripple Off dinner at the Port Shepstone Country Club on Friday evening.

The dinner, the fifth of its kind, encouraged members of the community to get to know one another in a business networking environment. Those in attendance were treated to a three-course meal and live entertainment from local musician Jesse James.

The theme for the evening saw guests celebrating the 150-year anniversary of Indians coming to South Africa. Last year’s dinner celebrated South Africa’s hosting of the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

The vicec chairperson of Ugu South Coast Tourism in the Port Shepstone area and event convenor Bobby Naidoo said that events like the Ripple Off dinner play a very important role in mobilising the community.

“It gives people a chance to get to know each other and understand different cultures.”
