Robbery: Woman tied up with laces

A MAN tied a 19-year-old woman up with shoe laces before helping himself to valuables and cash at her Epworth house on Tuesday morning.

Raeessa Singh heard someone breaking a window at about 10.30 am. When she went to investigate, the man confronted her and demanded that she open a door.

After tying Singh’s legs and arms, the man ransacked the house and took a laptop, jewellery, a cellphone and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police spokeswoman Inspector Joey Jeevan has appealed to anyone with information about the robbery to contact Detective Captain Naleen Maharaj of the Alexandra Road Detective Service at 033 845 7724 or 084 581 7809, or phone the toll-free Crime Stop number: 08600 10 111.
