Robbery: four attack lodge managers

2010-03-13 00:00

TWO managers at the Imbabala Lodge in Muden were assaulted and the lodge robbed on Thursday afternoon.

According to Roger Scheffer, who runs the biking trails activities at Imbabala, four armed men attacked the managers, Steve and Marti Wheeler, both in their sixties, and made off with cash and firearms.

The assailants threatened to shoot the two and severely beat them with fists and rocks. The Wheelers were taken to the doctor yesterday morning for cuts and bruises.

The Wheelers managed to escape to the lodge when the attackers fled into the bush. Gun shots were heard from the distance, says Scheffer.
