Royal Trust: pay up, Luthuli told

2012-06-26 00:00

THE former CEO of the Royal Household Trust, Nkululeko Luthuli, will be expected to pay back the funds he allegedly missapropriated.

This is according to trust chairperson Judge Jerome Ngwenya

Luthuli, a grandson of Nobel laureate Chief Albert Luthuli, resigned a fortnight ago, while facing a disciplinary hearing after an internal probe.

The board suspended him in February after it suspected him of alleged maladministration and misuse of trust funds.

Luthuli resigned earlier this month after notice was given that he would face an internal disicplinary hearing, for allegedly using trust funds for personal use and for irregular expenditure totalling R3 million.

“We accepted his resignation but we will have to recover all the money from him,” said Ngwenya.

Luthuli was not available for comment.
