CAPE TOWN — Springbok scrumhalf Ruan Pienaar was the hero for his Irish club Ulster as they beat Munster in the Pro12 last Friday night.

According to the Belfast Telegraph website, Pienaar was in superb form with the boot as Ulster won 29-19 at Ravenhill in Belfast.

He kicked five penalties and two conversions as Ulster grabbed a vital win.

They led 20-5 at the break, before Munster launched a strong fight back, but a Pienaar penalty right at the death sealed the deal.

Munster’s coach Rob Penney said Pienaar’s boot made the difference, especially after flyhalf Ian Keatle missed a string of kicks.

Pienaar was duly awarded the Man of the Match accolade.
