Rugby Academy Week ends today

THE last day of the Rugby Academy Week, being held at Glenwood, will finish today by 2.45 pm. Those having to travel long distances can then get home at a reasonable hour. Three venues: Glenwood’s A and B fields, and Port Natal, will be used to accomodate the 13 matches.

Eastern Province, after their victory over KZN and SWD, who surprised all by beating Western Province, will play the main match at 1.20 pm.

The KZN B side, a team that was put together hastily after the withdrawal of Kenya, will play the final game on the B field at noon, in a tough fixture against Boland.

The KZN Academy A side will play the Blue Bulls at 10.40 am on the A field and the KZN Country Districts XV, who have won both their games, will also play at 10.40 am, but on the B field against the Griffons.

The U16 KZN team, at the Grant Khomo Week in Vanderbijlpark, are one of eight teams that will play in the main stadium, in their first game at 8 am against the home union, the Valke. The main game at the U16 week sees Western Province against the Blue Bulls.


Glenwood A: 8 am Namibia vs Red Falcons; 9.20 Free State vs Golden Lions; 10.40 KZN vs Blue Bulls; noon W. Province vs Pumas; 1.20 E. Province vs SWD.

Glenwood B: 8 am Limpopo BB vs Leopards; 9.20 SA LSEN vs Border CD; 10.40 KZN CD vs Griffons; noon KZN XV vs Boland

Port Natal: 8 am Griquas CD vs Griffons CD; 9.20 Griquas vs E. Province CD; 10.40 Border vs Blue Falcons; noon Pumas CD vs Leopards CD.
