SA netball coach in PMB

2012-05-03 00:00

THE newly re-appointed SA Netball head coach and former Protea player, Elize Kotze, was in Pietermaritzburg late last month to conduct a course for locals.

The course for school coaches was organised by Voortekker first team coach, Celesté Jansen van Vuren.

Kotze shared her experiences as the Protea coach at the World Cup in Singapore in 2011 and the lessons she had learned from her mentor, Norma Plumber, the Australian coach prior to the World Cup.

The course was attended by 74 school netball coaches from across KwaZulu-Natal.

Kotze said that she was confident that South Africa had the potential to compete at the highest level internationally.

The course was run at Voortrekker High School over two afternoons and concentrated on tactical skills, defence principles and attacking lines.
