SABC has rights to air

LOCAL fans of British royalty can relax — SABC3 has secured the rights to show the wedding and eNews will be covering the event on its 24-hour news channel.

SABC3’s live broadcast will be aired from 9 am to 2.40 pm, covering the build-up to the wedding around central London, at St Andrews University in Scotland and in Middleton’s home village of Bucklebury.

Presenters will be stationed around Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and The Mall to watch the preparations as they unfold while speaking to members of the crowd who have travelled from all over the world.

Guest experts, including royal historians and correspondents, fashion experts and possibly some of the guests attending the wedding service will share their thoughts — and there will be coverage of members of the royal family and the bride as they make their way to the Abbey.

The broadcast includes full coverage of the wedding service, the procession back to Buckingham Palace afterwards and the historic balcony appearance by Prince William, his new princess and members of the royal family.

SABC3 will be broadcasting The Royal Wedding Special from 5 pm to 7 pm on April 30. During the show Huw Edwards and Sophie Raworth will look back on highlights of an extraordinary day. will be screening programmes today and tomorrow. Coverage tomorrow will run from 11 am to 2.30 pm and includes the journey to the Abbey, the glamorous wedding ceremony and all wedding celebrations.
