‘SA’s Got Talent’: KZN boys hope to make a mark

2012-10-16 00:00

PIETERMARITZBURG’S Nhlanhla (Luke) Greyling-Nxele and Phoenix’s Njabulo, the bullet rapper, will be hoping to impress viewers around South Africa in the last of the SA’s Got Talent semi-finals on e.tv at 8.30 pm tonight.

Fifteen-year-old disabled dancer Luke entered the reality show because he wanted to show South Africa and the world that anyone can do anything they set their minds to.

Determined not to be labelled as that boy with the crutches, he wants to be known as the boy who made an effort for change.

Njabulo has been into hip-hop for the last 14 years. He wants to showcase his verbal skills and show people that even with a negative background your talent can make you someone.

The other two KwaZulu-Natal acts — beatboxers Drumkit and Evo, from Umhlanga; and singers Khanyisa Mbuthu, from Imbali, and Mbongeni Mavuso, from Morningside, who together make up the group Iziqhaza, were knocked out in the second semi-final last Thursday.

If Luke and Njabulo make it into the final, they stand the chance to win a R250 000 cash prize.

Voting lines open immediately after the show ends.
