SRK wasted in poor storyline

DEBUTANT director Mudassar Aziz took three years to complete the shoot for this film, which was hampered by all sorts of delays.

It would have been better if he had canned the entire project as the storyline lacks oomph. We have seen this rehashed version time and time again in Bollywood — it’s old wine in a new bottle.

Dhanraj aka Donsai (Fardeen Khan) is an incorrigible flirt who is petrified by words like “marriage” and “long-term relationship”. He leaves the shores of the Carribean to fly to Punjab to marry a village belle so he can inherit the wealth of his deceased father.

He marries Samarpreet (Ishita Sharma) who cherishes their relationship, but Donsai, having fulfilled his father’s wish by marrying her, returns to the Carribean and his old flirtatious ways.

Samarpreet trails behind her husband and crosses paths with Shimmer (Sushmita Sen), a diva who takes her under her wing and transforms her into a suave, sassy and saucy woman who soon has her hubby leering like a poodle.

Pawan Raj Gandhi (Shah Rukh Khan) as a suave millionaire puts his feelings before his wealth. All these characters cross paths as they try to influence each other about a whole new meaning of relationships.

Fardeen Khan’s performance is mediocre; Sushmita Sen tries to add energy to the film; Ishita Sharma delivers a sincere performance; but SRK is wasted in an inconsequential role.

Besides directing the film, Aziz was responsible for penning the storyline, dialogue and the screenplay.

This film lacks fuel solely due to the poor storyline. *
