Saints off to a good start

2012-01-10 00:00

ST CHARLES made a solid start to their 2012 campaign with a comprehensive win over Woodridge from Port Elizabeth at the Grey College cricket festival over the weekend. With all sides using this festival as a pre-season warm up, their efforts have gone a long way to building the players confidence.

It was Matthew Ford’s day when he bagged seven wickets, all bowled, to reduce Uitenhage’s Woodridge to 89 all out after 44 overs in gruelling heat.

It was an easy task for the local lads to reach their required target, which they did after 22 overs and three wickets. — SR.

Score in brief:

Woodridge 89 ( Ford 7/35)

St Charles 91-3 (Robinson 40)

St Charles won seven wickets
