Saru: Div, Gold, Muir to stay for UK tour

2010-10-02 00:00

THE South African Rugby Union and president Regan Hoskins yesterday confirmed their full support for the current Springbok coaching team (Peter de Villiers and assistants Gary Gold and Dick Muir) and said they would be in charge for the end-of-year UK tour.

The three coaches met Hoskins in Durban on Thursday night

“Recent speculation has obviously been unsettling for all three coaches,” said Hoskins following a flurry of reports that most of the leading South African coaches had been approached – and had refused – to join De Villiers in place of Gold and Muir.

Hoskins’ concern about the coaches’ limitations was confirmed when he said that “consultants would be brought in from time to time” to help De Villiers.
