Schools’ tennis: KZN team leave for SA Inter-Provincial competition

THE KwaZulu-Natal High Schools’ tennis team departs this week to play at the South African Interprovincial Tournament in Pretoria.

The tournament format features singles, doubles as well as mixed doubles.

The boys’ U19A team features Yaseen Ebrahim of Westville as the number one player, followed by Musa Mpondi of Glenwood.

The girls’ U19A team is headed by Georgie Willows of St Mary’s, who is followed by Bianca Birkenstock of Crawford.



U19A: 1 Yaseen Ebrahim (Westville), 2 Musa Mpondi (Glenwood), 3 Axel Cronje (St Charles), 4 Dale Sandy (Kearsney), 5 William Thatcher (Clifton), 6 Ferdie Luttig (St Charles).

U19B: 1 Paseka Motsamai (Westville), 2 Ramon Fernandez (Clifton), 3 Jadon Rossler (Westville), 4 James Strachan (Michaelhouse), 5 Martin Kusel (Hilton), 6 Thuba Mzila (Wembley).

U15A: 1 Damon Kasaris (Glenwood), 2 Nicolai Manchev (Maritzburg College), 3 Thembo Makhanya (Westville), 4 CJ Klopper (Glenwood), 5 Bradley Porteous (Kearsney), 6 Ahmed Deedat (Clifton).

U15B: 1 Lukas Cronje (St Charles), 2 Xavier Keenan (Westville), 3 James van der Meulen (Westville), 4 Ben Liebenberg (Glenwood), 5 Mahir Singh (Kearsney), 6 Noel van Koorten (Maritzburg College).
