‘Serious’: dogs savage man (57)

2011-09-23 00:00

A 57-YEAR-OLD man is in a serious condition after he was attacked by three dogs in Northdene, just outside Pinetown, yesterday morning.

It is believed that the man had stopped on the side of the road in the residential area and had just climbed out his car when he was attacked by the three dogs, which had escaped from a nearby yard.

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene the dogs had been locked away inside the house.

ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said the man suffered “massive traumatic injuries to his left arm and bites to his face and right leg”. He was taken to R.K. Khan Hospital in a serious but stable condition. Malvern police are investigating.
