MAN-eating reptiles and TV spinoffs are the fare with the new films this weekend, with Sex and the City and Rogue opening at CineCentre. Made of Honour joins Ster Kinekor while Nim’s Island comes to Nu Metro. There will be previews of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian at Ster Kinekor on Saturday.

Michael Patrick King directs Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattarall, Kristin David and Cynthia Nixon in Sex and the City, a feature-film adaptation of the hit HBO television series. The action is picked up four years after the series ended. Chris Noth, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler and Jason Lewis are provided as love interests for the stars. The film obviously aims to cash in on the popularity of the series.

Rogue is an Australian film, directed and written by Greg McLean and starring Radha Mitchell, Michael Vartan and Sam Worthington. It is a horror/adventure set in the outback where an American travel writer arrives to have a look at the action, and gets more than he bargains for when the group he is travelling with encounters a man-eating crocodile. First it wrecks their boat, and strands them on an island where it can chomp them at leisure.
