Sexual crime: dad held

2014-07-10 00:00

A FATHER from Hilton made a brief appearance at the magistrate’s court charged with the sexual assault of his five-year-old daughter.

The man’s name is being withheld to protect the identity of the child, who he is alleged to have been sexually assaulting since 2012.

This was only discovered by the mother of the child when she was talking to her daughter about different ways of touching.

It’s believed that the child told the mother that she had been playing with her father’s genitals for more than two years. She told of a secret game she had with her father.

She alleged that sometimes she was asked to kiss his private parts but she would refuse and laugh at him.

The man applied for legal aid and told the court that he wants to plead guilty to the charges.

The accused was remanded in custody until July 11 for a possible plea.
