Sharks: Lambie, Alberts back

2012-06-26 00:00

THE Sharks are expecting Springboks Pat Lambie and Willem Alberts to be fit for their next Super Rugby outing against the Bulls at King’s Park on Friday, July 6.

The Sharks have a bye this weekend and coach John Plumtree will welcome the extra week’s break after Lambie (ankle) and Alberts (knee) were injured in the second Test against England. Both missed the weekend Port Elizabeth Test, but Sharks CEO Brian van Zyl told The Witness the pair were expected to be out for two weeks and that they would be ready for the Bulls game.

Baby Bok centre Paul Jordaan (hamstring) missed the weekend Junior World Cup final.

This weekend’s fixtures (home team first): Friday: Highlanders vs Chiefs (9.35 am); Rebels vs Reds (11.40 am). Saturday: Crusaders vs Hurricanes (9.35 am); Force vs Brumbies (11.40am); Stormers vs Lions (5.05 pm). Bulls vs Cheetahs 7.10 pm.
