Sharks: U19 and U21 to open

THE Sharks U19 and U21 teams, coached by Ryan Strudwick and Sean Everitt, meet the Blue Bulls in curtain-raisers at King’s Park today.

The U19 game kicks off at 12.45 pm with the U21 match starting at 2.40 pm.

Loosehead prop Allan Dell leads the U19 side and hooker Monde Hadebe captains the U21s. A number of U21 players are missing as they are on duty for the Sharks senior Currie Cup side.

The Blue Bull U19 and U21 sides were last year’s losing finalists in their respective competitions.


U19s: Duane Adams, Vernon du Randt, Andrew Holland, Paul Jordaan, Heinrich Arendse, Fred Zeilinga, Ivan Ludick, Braam Steyn, Alwyn Jansen van Vuuren, Khaya Majola, Stephan Lewies, Wade Elliott, Nicolaas van Dyk, Franco Marais, Allan Dell (capt).

Replacements: Emile Van Wyk, Simon Kerrod, Stephan Deyzel, Ernst Ladendorf, Jason Klaasen, Ruan Allerston, Riaan van Zyl, Lionel Abrahams.

Sharks U21: Gouws Prinsloo, Nico van der Westhuizen, Piet Lindeque, Heimar Williams, Jaco van Tonder, Willie du Plessis, Charles Purden, Lubabalo Mtembu, Peet Marais, Chris Cloete, Pieter-Stef Du Toit, Karolis Navickas, Nick Schonert, Monde Hadebe (capt), Njabulo Mkhize.

Replacements: Shaun Malton, Danie Mienie, Johan Schoonbee, Brynard Stander, Fred Zeilinga, Andrew Norton, Kayde Fisher.
